The Academy at SHADOWLAND STAGES is pleased to announce

a SUMMER SESSION of


Beginning Acting classes for adults (18+)

July 11th – August 29th

Adult Acting Classes occur on Monday evenings from 6 to 7:30 PM at the Studio at SHADOWLAND STAGES (14 Market Street at the corner of Center St) beginning July 11th for 8 consecutive weeks. The cost is $125.

The Adult Acting Class will be an opportunity to stretch artistic muscles, get in touch with your sense of play/imagination, drop into your body/voice, focus on active performances, and do scene work. The teacher for the summer session will be Andrew Garret Karl. Please pay tuition online in advance of your first class and bring the completed registration form (downloadable below) with you. 

Andrew Garret Karl is a Director, Producer, and Educator of experimental and traditional theatre. In 2012, Andrew started The Mimesis Theatre Project; a company that uses the collaborative efforts of an ensemble to create non-traditional musicals. Andrew’s work has been seen at Dixon Place, Flushing Town Hall, The 92nd Street Y, JAGFest, Feinstein’s/54below, The Cape Rep Theatre, Millbrook Playhouse, and The New London Barn Playhouse. Andrew is most proud of his work as an educator, having taught students from all over the country, aged 2.5 to 75 how to use the tools of performance to grow closer to themselves and their community. Andrew holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Ithaca College and an MA in Arts Administration from Baruch College. More information can be found at andrewgarretkarl.com.
