The total price for the Fall/Winter Performance session is $175 per student.

We’re excited to announce a new holiday theatre experience at Shadowland Stages’ Academy for actors, singers, and dancers ages 6 – 17: NUTCRACKER IN A FLASH!
This irresistible spin on the holiday classic brings our young performers together for a fast-paced, fun, and focused theatrical experience, culminating in a performance on Sunday, December 20.
Rather than trying to rehearse everything all at once, NUTCRACKER IN A FLASH! is designed around focused rehearsal time and intentional work.
The show will feature two groups working independently on their own scenes, along with one shared dance period that includes students of both age groups.
This structure allows us to spend more time polishing scenes, developing characters, learning choreography, and building a cohesive production without trying to squeeze everything into the same rehearsal period.
And importantly, dance is optional! Students who want to dance can participate in the shared choreography period, while students who prefer to focus on acting and singing are not required to attend.
By focusing our rehearsal time, we can give our students realistic objectives, more individual attention, and the opportunity to truly polish their work.
SATURDAY REHEARSAL TIMES:
Ages 6-11: 10:00 am – 11:30 am
Dance (both age groups*): 11:45 am – 12:45 pm
*Open to students who want to participate in choreography. Older students will have a half hour break between choreography and scene work.
Ages 12 -17: 1:15 pm – 2:45 pm
Attendance is of the essence so please attend all Saturday Rehearsals!
Registration Fee: $150
Costume Fee: $25
Total Cost for Enrollment: $175

As the Academy grows, the need for scholarships also increases as many local children cannot afford the modest tuition. To date, the program has found donors to sponsor 3 students each semester. Just 10 additional scholarships per semester would allow us to move everyone off the waiting list. If you are interested in more information about scholarships, please email ben@shadowlandstages.org.

INSTRUCTOR: JERYLANN WARNER
In the realm of performance ideation, Jerylann, as a choreographer and seasoned teacher, has made an unstoppable creative impact. She has guided her students far in their artistic pursuits while mentoring, nurturing, and developing professional dancers and actors. Her choreography and dance company, Gathering Wild, have provided opportunities and acclaim for many performing artists. Her signature approach has been to foster community, conversation, and collaboration among vocal, visual, musical, theatrical, movement, and literary artists. Her roles in performance, production, and direction all center around this alchemy. Her production credits are numerous, ranging from site-specific immersive events to staged musical theater, as well as performances for the concert stage.
Jerylann has served on the faculties of Harvard and Emory University, directed dance programs in two performing arts high schools, and also served as dramaturge in residence. She launched a dance program in Title I schools in Atlanta, directed a school of dance in metro Atlanta, and wrote and directed a series of evening-length productions.
Jerylann is delighted to work at Shadowland Stages, where it already feels like home.
