One of the most popularly produced plays in the country since its premiere, this hilarious sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is set two years after the novel ends. Bookish Mary has grown tired of her role as the dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings’ romantic endeavors. But things change when an unexpected guest shows up for the family’s Christmas gathering at Pemberley, sparking Mary’s hope for independence, an intellectual equal, and maybe even love. This energetic and witty romantic comedy is a new holiday classic!

Brendan is in his 19th year as Artistic Director of SHADOWLAND STAGES, where he has directed and/or produced over 100 productions, including LIFESPAN OF A FACT, THE JAG, ELEMENO PEA, RIPCORD, THE FOREIGNER, THE SEAFARER, BOEING-BOEING, LAST GAS, THE LADIES MAN, YANKEE TAVERN, RED HERRING, THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, LEND ME A TENOR, THE DRAWER BOY, STONES IN HIS POCKETS, PROOF, AMERICAN BUFFALO, A WALK IN THE WOODS, A COUPLE OF BLAGUARDS, AND THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED), among others. This June, Mr. Burke directed a new play at Durango Playfest in Colorado starring Richard Kind and Wendie Malick. Mr. Burke is also an instructor in the Department of Theatre Arts at SUNY New Paltz.
