THE GARBOLOGISTS follows the unlikely partnership of two New York City sanitation workers: Danny, a seasoned, no-nonsense veteran, and Marlowe, an Ivy League-educated newcomer. As they navigate their daily garbage route, the duo discovers the hidden art of “mongo” (searching for discarded treasures) and gradually finds common ground amidst the trash and treasures of the city.
Hailed by critics as “A must see…Joelle’s finely crafted play is laced with wit and wisdom” (Broadway World) and “Delightfully intimate, surprising, and profound, filled with unexpected laughter and even tears” (onStage Pittsburgh), THE GARBOLOGISTS promises to be a standout production this season. The play features DeAnna Supplee* as Marlowe and Joel Rainwater* as Danny. The play will be directed by SHADOWLAND STAGES veteran Jammie Patton. (*denotes member of Actors Equity Association).
The production begins with preview performances on September 13th at 8 PM and September 14th at 2 PM, leading up to the official opening night on September 14th at 8 PM. Opening night festivities on September 14th will include a pre-show tasting sponsored by Chelsea Rialto Studios at 7:15 PM in the Studio Lobby and a post-show gathering at Marbella Tapas Bar in Ellenville. The play will run Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM until September 29th.

Director
Jammie Patton (DIRECTOR) has been acting and directing for both stage and screen for over 20 years with a strong affinity for stories that magnify and empower marginalized communities. Recent directing credits include Bull in a China Shop (University of North Carolina School of the Arts), The Cake (Shaker Bridge Theater) Cadillac Crew (Vermont Stage), In the Continuum, The Niceties, and Skeleton Crew (Shadowland Stages) in which Jammie also portrayed Faye. Patton has also produced and directed several music videos, short documentaries, and short films (Skeletons, Charlie’s Kitchen Waltz, Finding Her Light, The Nest). Patton has shadowed as a director on The Good Fight on Paramount Plus. As a performer, Jammie has appeared on TV shows such as Law and Order SVU, Inventing Anna, Justified, Doctor Death, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Last O.G., and Flatbush Misdemeanors in addition to many national commercials, films and stage plays. Patton can currently be seen in the feature film, Susie Searches on Amazon Prime and as the lead in the digital series Compersion, which is housed on EnchantTV on YouTube. Jammie is a proud graduate of Howard University’s College of Fine Arts and the British American Drama Academy at Oxford University.
